Catchup (not Ketchup)

Wow - it's been an eventful week since we last spoke.

Okay - the doctor. My BP is okay - but running a little high on the new meds. We're going to monitor it for the next three weeks and see how it looks before the Princess. My doctor is totally on board with the plan of working out according to my coaches instructions (my doctor is a runner, too) - but she asked me to increase my speed a bit - wants me more winded. This will help with the side stitch. She also approves of the 2200 calorie a day goal.

Then all heck broke loose. Amber got sick that very same day. I got it over the weekend. And we're just now coming out of it. The baby actually started it with a stomach virus. And then we passed it around the house.

But things are getting back to normal around here.

I'll do a weigh-in for Feb 1 on Wednesday (although I know I'm about the same - February's goal is to focus on the 2200 calorie limit - now that exercise is more of a routine - I've worked out just about every day the last three weeks, with two or three exceptions).

And I'll report back then. :)

Until then - enjoy this picture of Elizabeth looking stern on her sled.

EPCOT AWAITS!

  1. Congratulations on sticking with the exercise!!

    I agree with your doctor/trainer about working your way through the side stitch. As a 35 year runner I just can't understand how a regular exerciser could possibly have ongoing persistent trouble with a side stitch. That was an issue I had when I FIRST started running, and then it only happened if I exceeded my "comfortable maximum pace." If you keep exercising regularly and increasing the pace you can run at comfortably, the side stitch issue should go away. I've been running for 35 years as stated and it's been about 34 years since I've ever had a side stitch.

  2. I like that your doctor wants you more winded - not only for the side stitch, but you need to work on that speed too :)!

    Glad you're all getting over the virus - that is never fun.

  3. More winded?? Yay and boo... ???
    So more winded is good, BUT what is the limit on the winded part? Are you gonna go by heart rate?? There has to be more of a guide line you should be following. What does you coach say?? Who is your coach??
    I am only asking these questions cause they need to be.
    It's awful you guys keeping getting these little bugs that upset the insides. Wash your hands more often and less likely to spread it.Aloe juice is good for tummies. 2oz in am,2oz in pm. Makes a difference. Just trying to help.{has no flavor}
    Be happy I don't live in your time zone...we would be walking buddies :D {hard work, dedication}
