Galloway Day 1 - 30 m - 1.65 miles

*dusting off keyboard* Wow it got quiet in here....time to turn the volume up!

Well folks - this is now officially the time where the rubber meets the road.

The last few weeks of "reboot" time have been leading up to today. Conditioning me. Getting me ready.

And now I'm pushing forward to the next level.

I'm still working with my super secret coach (thanks coach!) on food and mileage and distance challenges - but I'm also transitioning into the Galloway training plan - 18 weeks to a half-marathon. And today I did my first 30 minute workout at 1.65m. I'm going to be buying one of those vibrating interval timers for the walk/run intervals this week. Official weigh-in on Monday (Labor Day) - but sufficed to say, I've been holding steady the last two weeks. I expect that to drop significantly.

I'm feeling really good about this.

The last two weeks have been less than ideal - but not "bad" - just really busy and so training took a backseat. That's no longer okay. I have race #1 coming up in only 18 weeks. And race #2 a few short weeks after that. And then a long training break until #s3 and 4. Because I'm GETTING all four medals this year - actually FIVE (Coast-to-Coast).

And speaking of - who doesn't LOVE the 15th anniversary Donald Medal?

Can't WAIT to have it placed over me in EPCOT at the FINISH line.

So - where IS everyone? Are you all still out there?

Do we need a Team Voice Mousekateer Roll Call?!?! Alright my friends - SIGN IN!

353 - Getting Back Into the Groove

Alrighty - first - please enjoy this picture of Elizabeth enjoying her first pretzel in Disneyland (this was taken in March/April-ish).

Now that that's out of the way - I'm down around 4 pounds in two weeks (3.8) - and feeling really good about that.

Stomach woes are pretty much behind us. Just some lingering GI distress.

I've gotten out last week a few times for a short jaunt, and tomorrow I will kick up my "short" jaunt to 1.5 miles as my regular loop - until August 30, when my short loop will change to follow Galloway's training program for the 1/2 Marathon.

I'm really excited about the fact that I now have TWO pairs of shoes - yes - the Asics came in - and both seem to help with the shin pain. Not sure which pair I prefer yet, but I'm just happy to have them.

How're YOU all doing, my friends? How's your training going? How's your LIFE going?

And who's looking forward to January already???

An Update

Okay - so I promised over a week ago a new update.

I had hoped to report to you on my workout regime, my weight loss, and our wonderful housewarming party.

Unfortunately on Saturday Amber and I came down with a NASTY stomach bug - maybe even food poisoning. Not sure which. But until this morning - I've been either in bed, on the couch, or in the bathroom.

Now - that being said - I'm feeling somewhat better today - and am back at work.

And prepping a trial for tomorrow. Which I can't wait for!

There is nothing more uplifting than a trial for me!! :)

Hopefully to get back on the road tomorrow or Thursday - with a post week wrap up. :)

Miss you guys!

356.8

This is another shot from Elizabeth's charity photo shoot - I just hadn't gotten around to posting it yet.

Okay - so I'm up 5 pounds in three weeks. And I could explain and excuse - but I won't. It doesn't matter. That's where I am - so that's where I am.

On the GOOD side - the new NB shoes are working out it seems - and I did a nice 1.5 mile jaunt with them today. I'll be staying with that distance this week - and trying to get faster and faster on it. Also - I'll be updating weight next MONDAY - then every two weeks - but I really want to get rid of that number, so I want something more positive to look at.

I'm registered for Princess - and I have my head screwed on straight. Now it's just a matter of hard work. :)
