Boxing

Our house is a MESS.

Or rather - I should say - our house is empty and ready for our walkthrough today.

Our CONDO is a MESS.

We're likely moving NEXT WEEKEND.

This is exciting!!

Can't wait to be in the new house. I feel like a lot of things are on HOLD right now until we move - can't wait until we have the new exercise equipment in the house - and I'm really able to kick this stuff into high gear!

Disneyland was awesome - but crowded. I loved it - but I still think I prefer WDW - it handles crowds better - and because it's a "vacation" park - not a day park for locals - it feels like folks hold their time there more sacred.

I'll have more updates soon - but much like MANY of my friends (Jeff W, Justin, Byron, etc) - this blog might get a little sparse for a few weeks while I move and refocus and get back on my feet! I'll try to keep you all updated as often as I can! Likely a few times until moving day. :)

But don't worry - normal blogging will resume as soon as possible. :) Complete with weigh-in updates - WW Points updates - exercise updates - runDisney updates - and more!

345.8 - Disneyland Here We Come

After several VERY long and stressful weeks - the trip is upon us!

First off - down 2.6 pounds this week - which is quite nice, thank you. :) Hopefully we'll maintain or even lose a bit at Disneyland. :) We are also marching slowly towards our closing date of April 7. Soon we'll be in an entirely new home with a BUNCH of new things to help support our goals. :)

That being said - let's talk turkey! Or mouse. Or duck. Or whatever!

I'm going to Disneyland! We leave Wednesday late afternoon - arrive in Anaheim - and are staying on DVC points at Paradise Pier! Thursday and Friday we'll be meeting up with Paul Barrie and Tairy Barrie (that name is SO cute) and some other friends to hang out in the parks!

We're doing lunch at CLUB 33 on Thursday! :)

Dinner at Ariel's on Friday - with the World of Color package!

Lunch at the Bayou Saturday - just us - so hopefully we'll sit by the water so Elizabeth can see the boats go by!

And breakfast Sunday at the Storyteller's Cafe before heading home!

I'll be facebooking as we go! So make sure you're following or friending me. :) I'll be taking pictures and video galore - speaking of which - one of the projects I'm going to work on after the move is really working with our video and photos to create a digital home base for it all - which means I can post some of it here, too! :)

Anyhow....I'll check in again before I leave!

But yet again I can say - and really get excited about the fact that...

The Ashland

So - this is our new house plan. :)

First a quick update on the week. I'm struggling a bit this week with getting out of bed to the gym - mostly because when I AM getting sleep - then Elizabeth ISN'T. Last night I spent until after 1am up with her. Which meant getting up at 5am to workout was unlikely.

I cannot WAIT until I have that workout room in my house so I can workout at 8pm or 5am or 2:30am - or WHENEVER it's convenient - without going ANYWHERE - and while still being home in case of baby issues. For reference, the workout room will be the downstairs "den".

Now - for those of you who worry - fear not - I am NOT going to use the "I'm going to have a workout room soon" or "I'm going to Disneyland" or "well, we're moving" as excuses to be complacent over the next month. What I do know is that whatever progress I make will be AMPLIFIED after I have that room. :) In other words - I'll keep moving forward - and move forward FASTER after everything settles.

I haven't yet registered for the 2012 Donald - mostly because while we're waiting to close our loan, I shouldn't really spend much of any money on anything but essentials. But as soon as we close, I'm planning on registering to take advantage of the discount for Disney Visa holders. :)

2012 is going to be the year of five medals - and that commemorative Donald is #1.

And from May to January is 8 full months of training and weight loss to look forward to! And we ARE going to hit that 100 pound mark. Even though we've stalled a bit - we ARE going to hit it - if for NO other reason than - I WANT TO SEE MGREENE PAY (you don't mind if I make you the "villain" in my story, do you? It's not personal - just helps motivate!)

But we are also going to divide it into smaller chunks.

First goal - lose 8 pounds by moving day (roughly a month away). So I'd be down 15 overall.

Then - another 10. To get to my 25 pound reward (and you KNOW I'm still waiting for it).

And so on.

348.4 - A New Beginning

Lots to discuss today.

But first - let's talk about that number above.

Yes - I'm up about 3.6 pounds from last week.

Frankly - given the last two weeks and how they've gone - I'm not going to sweat it. It's been a roller coaster. That being said - today things get back on track. A nice EVEN KEELED track.

Back to points and to the gym. Back to counting and being accountable. Back to where we were three weeks ago BEFORE the spit hit the fan.

And we now have a NEW tool to help in this fight!!!

I now present to you - OUR NEW HOME!

A view of our driveway.
WE HAVE A TREE!!! This is our tree - and it's already budding!
We have purchased a brand new DR Horton home near my office - it's about 2650 sq feet - and BEAUTIFUL. 4 bedrooms and a huge bonus room upstairs. An enormous kitchen and living suite - with a downstairs den.

Did I say den?

What I meant to say is WORKOUT ROOM. We've already selected a NordicTrack Treadmill and Elliptical that will be purchased just after closing (which, incidentally is April 7) and delivered as soon as possible thereafter.

Having these in the home will make EVERY DAY a gym day. And every workout LONGER (since I don't have to drive or deal with weather or rain or sleepiness or anything - I just have to get my butt out of bed and stumble down the stairs).

The 15th anniversary Donald is going to be mine. That's 1 of 5 for 2012.

Oh yeah - and I fully intend to make mgreene write that check.

I may have stumbled, but don't count me out yet.

Blocks and Puzzles

We sat on the floor,

Doing blocks and puzzles,

Telling horribly bad jokes,

Laughing until our sides hurt.

You never had a cross word for me,

Always told me how much you loved me,

And appreciated every moment we spent together.

You saw your name in lights on your 80th,

The scoreboard at a Mariner's game lit up your face.

And today, you joined your husband again at last.

He came for you,

To end your suffering,

To end your pain.

And he did it,

Of all days,

Today.

On your Wedding Anniversary.

Weekend Update

"In tonight's news - a new Winnie the Pooh character will be written into the newest Pooh book to replace Eeyore....who finally did it."

That being said here's the REAL weekend update.

Elizabeth threw up all day Friday, meaning we didn't get our time alone. We're pushing back our celebration a week. My grandmother has now been admitted to the hospital with a UTI as well as pneumonia - they're giving her IV antibiotics and going to try to buff her up enough to go home - but we could be looking at days or a week or two left. And after visiting her, came home to an inconsolable Elizabeth. Wailing and screaming. No reason we could see why. Until a diaper change. Rushed her to the doctor again - yup - she compounded her ear infection with a VERY painful yeast infection. So now when she pees. She screams. LOUD. And a lot.

*sigh*

Needless to say - we're eating what we can, when we can. I'm not eating a lot - which is good - except that when I DO eat, it's whatever we bring in or order out for. Tomorrow we're restocking the fridge - and as we go into a hopefully "normal" week - I'm getting back on track. All that understood - I think I still may lose weight this week. Not sure yet.

Anyhow. I'm doing the best I can to hang in there and keep plugging along. We go house hunting tomorrow still. And we're already looking at exercise equipment for the house. Can't wait for that. I know that I'm headed in the right direction overall - and just have to kick it into high gear. I also know that there's always "something" - and it's how I choose to deal with those that really will define my future.

So I'm choosing to acknowledge the "somethings" - and do my best to get past them.

And get back to Main Street.

Planning for future races and trips coming soon!

Five Years

Today I've had my queen officially for five years.

And today we celebrate.

But before we get to that. A few updates that make this celebration that much more difficult - and sacred at the same time.

1) Elizabeth. Remember that low grade temp? Yeah - blossomed into 102.7 - 103.2 for the last two days. Ear infection. Now on medication. And throwing up anything we put into her. Including her antibiotics and milk. But Auntie is still going to watch her as of right now.

2) Grandma. Is back in CHF - and yesterday we made the decision to transfer her to a "hospice" care plan. Keep her more comfortable. It's a matter of weeks or months now. Oh yeah - and did I mention that they called last night to tell me she now has pneumonia?

But even if it's just for an hour or two - Amber and I are going to spend some time alone today - even if the world crumbles around us - we are going to dedicate some time to remembering why we love each other.

And that no matter what the world throws at us.

We get through it better now because we have each other.

I love you, Amber!

Our Castle

Well - it's official! We've obtained loan approval and talked with our realtor.

We start house hunting on Sunday!

We've got a nice list of property to look at - and are REALLY excited to go see some of these places so that we can find a single family home (not a condo like ours now) with a yard - and lots of space - to move into.

And it may be as soon as April when we move! How cool is that for a birthday present! A new home!!!

That's the sum of things so far this week - rebooting - workouts scheduled for tomorrow, Friday and Sunday. And of course, our anniversary on Friday/Saturday - if Elizabeth cooperates (she's running a very low-grade temp this morning - so who knows what Friday'll bring).

TTFN!
