This picture was taken in January of 2011 just before the Half Marathon. I'm about the same size today as I was then.
And it occurred to me that I can really do damage to my progress on this upcoming Disney Trip if I'm not careful.
But it also occurred to me that I have access to the workout room at the Contemporary. And I can just get up early, as I usually do, and hit the elliptical. Might even go for a jog or two! If I can keep up with the exercise things will go better. I might even LOSE weight while I'm there - and how awesome would it be to push forward towards January with that mindset?
So that's what I'm going to do! Use the gym at the Contemporary!
Last night we watched "Tinkerbell" for the first time. Actually a really fun movie - and Elizabeth loved it. Even tried to say "Tin...er...ell" before bed when I pointed at her autographed picture from Margaret Kerry.
You know? Despite my struggles....I'm a lucky guy.
EPCOT AWAITS!

Have fun on your trip, I will be watching this blog to see how it goes.
ReplyDeleteIf you get bored with the gym at the Contemporary you could hop over to the Polynesian/Grand Floridian and run/walk back and forth between them. That's what I always do when I'm on vacation at WDW. The sand also makes for a more challenging workout.
ReplyDeleteHey - I just got an email telling me about this great site about the Contemporary - lots of pictures to help get you in the mood! Check it out at http://www.disneycontemporary.com/
ReplyDeleteSeriously - You can get in a couple of miles by jogging around the grounds of BLT, across the street and down the pathway by the boat docks in front of the Magic Kingdom. I love doing this before the park opens when it's just you and the custodial crew out washing down the sidewalks. It's a great little jog.
ReplyDeleteYou just need to be really smart about your eating and snacking options. Indulge sparingly and get more working out than just the normal park walking.
I want you to be successful in this trip and do not fall in to the easy old habits. I know you can do it!
You're a very lucky guy! :) I would LOVE to go to Disney World as often as you get to! Not to mention, you get to spend the holidays with your wife and daughter. My better-half is 20,000 Leagues under the sea - no phone, no skpe, MAYBE an email but that's about it.
ReplyDeleteBut even for all that, I'd say I've got it good too.
Ya know why?
No matter how hard things get, or what struggles we're trudging through, we're still on this side of dirt, able to learn from our pasts, and paint a brighter future. And that makes us pretty lucky people.
