Galloway Day 10 - 30m

So I'm back from Vegas with a QUICK update (I have to get to court).

I haven't done my 30m today yet - that'll be later - I only have one court date, and then I'm home - so I'll do it during baby nap time. :)

Vegas went well - did good with food and exercise. So I feel good about that.

A good friend of mine opined that the training will help with the races, but that I should "follow the dietician's instructions to the letter" - to ensure we finally figure out how to get this weight off. I agree totally. And my first homework assignment is to track EVERYTHING I eat for the next two weeks. And I'm using the app above to do it.

It gives me an interesting view of things from above. Calories, fat, salt, etc. And then we'll review it - create a plan - and work together going forward.

I'm also considering some additional counseling. I feel like there's some unresolved stuff (emotional) surrounding everything I've been through in the last 24 months (loss of job, creating a business, moving family to us, having a baby, dad passing, grandmother passing, etc) that I need to process. And if that's a component of why I'm struggling - it's time to deal with it.

In other words - it seems like I have a good plan going forward. And I'll have experts supporting me along the way!

EPCOT AWAITS!

  1. Ya know, weight loss is really a head game. Sure there is a science to it (input vs output) but you'll keep the weight on if you're stressed, depressed, etc. It really warps the way we (the overweight of the world) view food. I know I struggle to see it as just "fuel" for this "machine" that is my body sometimes! It's why I've only been able to keep SOME of the weight off rather than all of it.

You've got a great plan going on Jonathon! I find it really helpful to track what I eat, as closely as I would track how to I spend money. I use Myfitnesspal.com, but whever works for you! KEEP IT UP! You're heading in the right direction and you're getting the help you need along the way.

  2. Glad you found an app that works. I will give you a plus with Myfitnesspal that totally love. You can scan the barcodes of packaged food and it will look to find matches. This is such a time saver as you just scan and add. I've been happily surprised that I rarely have to add a custom food to meet my needs. Had to share that because I think it is very cool technology and makes it so easy to track things.

I am glad that you're working with the nutritionist and thinking about some more therapy. If it works for you go for it - you have to find the right key to unlock your potential and all the success waiting for you.
