Galloway Day 1 - 30 m - 1.65 miles

*dusting off keyboard* Wow it got quiet in here....time to turn the volume up!

Well folks - this is now officially the time where the rubber meets the road.

The last few weeks of "reboot" time have been leading up to today. Conditioning me. Getting me ready.

And now I'm pushing forward to the next level.

I'm still working with my super secret coach (thanks coach!) on food and mileage and distance challenges - but I'm also transitioning into the Galloway training plan - 18 weeks to a half-marathon. And today I did my first 30 minute workout at 1.65m. I'm going to be buying one of those vibrating interval timers for the walk/run intervals this week. Official weigh-in on Monday (Labor Day) - but sufficed to say, I've been holding steady the last two weeks. I expect that to drop significantly.

I'm feeling really good about this.

The last two weeks have been less than ideal - but not "bad" - just really busy and so training took a backseat. That's no longer okay. I have race #1 coming up in only 18 weeks. And race #2 a few short weeks after that. And then a long training break until #s3 and 4. Because I'm GETTING all four medals this year - actually FIVE (Coast-to-Coast).

And speaking of - who doesn't LOVE the 15th anniversary Donald Medal?

Can't WAIT to have it placed over me in EPCOT at the FINISH line.

So - where IS everyone? Are you all still out there?

Do we need a Team Voice Mousekateer Roll Call?!?! Alright my friends - SIGN IN!

EPCOT AWAITS!

  3. I'm sorry, I've been put on the DL this week. (Stupid ankle, who really needs them anyways?)
That medal does look nice, I'm still planing my first Disney Marathon in 2013.

It's great to see you've started your program. I wish I could be out there running right now, instead I will be laying on my bed watching the Sounders.

  4. I'm toying with doing the Princess 1/2 Marathon next year. My Sailor should be back from Deployment by then to cheer me on, and I think training would give me something to do (and a great way to get into kick-arse shape before he returns)! GO GET 'EM JONATHAN!

  5. Ummmm...HELLO - I've been here all along, but where have you been? :)

I will be there for every one of those races next year and I expect you to be there as well. That means training takes a higher priority and no excuses!

I have the Galloway interval timer and I love it. Super easy to use and hard to ignore :)!

So glad to hear that you're still out there fighting the good fight and working towards those goals.

As always, let me know if you need anything!
