Today I've had my queen officially for five years. And today we celebrate.
But before we get to that. A few updates that make this celebration that much more difficult - and sacred at the same time.
1) Elizabeth. Remember that low grade temp? Yeah - blossomed into 102.7 - 103.2 for the last two days. Ear infection. Now on medication. And throwing up anything we put into her. Including her antibiotics and milk. But Auntie is still going to watch her as of right now.
2) Grandma. Is back in CHF - and yesterday we made the decision to transfer her to a "hospice" care plan. Keep her more comfortable. It's a matter of weeks or months now. Oh yeah - and did I mention that they called last night to tell me she now has pneumonia?
But even if it's just for an hour or two - Amber and I are going to spend some time alone today - even if the world crumbles around us - we are going to dedicate some time to remembering why we love each other.
And that no matter what the world throws at us.
We get through it better now because we have each other.
I love you, Amber!
MAIN STREET AWAITS!
Sounds like a great plan Jonathon. When things seem toughest, a few things here might help:
ReplyDeleteRemember you have had 5 years together and STILL have a future to look forward to due to the healthier decisions you are making together every day; Even a few more weeks/months with your mom is a few more weeks/months - so find a way to make the time you still have with them special. As for Elizabeth's ear infection? Trust me - all the throw up stories will be funny to tease her with in 10 years. ;)
You will get through this together, and this too shall pass... Hugs!
Happy Anniversary to you both. Have a fabulous few hours together.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry about your Grandma!! I'm sure they will take good care of her.
ReplyDeleteTry to make some time for yourselves today but remember, you will always be married and it isn't "the day" it is the fact that you are a family together. Around here, everyday is special. We never miss a chance to say we love each other and know that life is short so we celebrate every moment. Everyday is Mother's Day, everyday Father's Day, everyday is a celebration. No fanfare, just that everyday is spent like it is the last and so, is precious.
Hang in there, it does get better.

Congratulations on your anniversary. I'm so sorry for your grandma. And I hope Elizabeth is feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteHi Jonathan, remember me? I've got a blog spot now too. Happy anniversary to you and Amber. Sorry about your grandma not being well. It's interesting how I spent some time remembering all my grandparents this week. Cherish every moment you have left with yours. Take care and God bless.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary. I hope you did get a few hours to celebrate.
ReplyDeleteHope Elizabeth is feeling better.
Sorry to hear about your Grandmother. This is certainly not an easy time, but you'll get through it.
Keep your chin up!
