What's most important in these final days in the run up to the race is to get mentally prepared. I'm as physically prepared as I am going to be for this Saturday. I've worked out moderately since healing the toe (including a 30 minute elliptical workout this morning) - and I feel physically ready.Now we need to channel the mindset - the heart - the drive that will push me through Animal Kingdom - down Osceola parkway - into Hollywood Studios - and back to the Boardwalk.
I find it interesting - motivating - inspiration in fact, to know that just before finishing this race - which I think of as a "restart" for me - we will round the boardwalk area.
Very few people remember this - and even fewer who read this blog now know about it....
But the very ever first Team Voice meeting was at 6am December 2007 during MouseFest. We met at the Boardwalk Hotel, and jogged the boardwalk together. As I recall, we had Deb, Rae, Eric, Jeff W, Me, Bryan....and I think that was it. Am I missing anyone?
That was how Team Voice really started. And we talked about seeing each other again in January 2009 for the race. And staying healthy. And raising charity money. And it was wonderful.
And now we get to do the Boardwalk again. As a new start for me. And a rebirth for our team. And our goals.
Now that is a success I can get behind!
