Okay folks - this is where the rubber hits the road. I've been dealing with some personal stuff lately - but it's time to get serious.Today here's what I've done.
1) I've REGISTERED for the 2010 Wine and Dine 1/2 Marathon. I WILL BE THERE.
2) I've REGISTERED for the 2011 WDW 1/2 Marathon. I WILL BE THERE.
3) I've cleared my Club 8 goal and made room for March. 22 days to go - 8 pounds to lose. Doable. (and remarkable that through this all, I'm still in the 330s)
4) I've decided to DEDICATE every step. Every pound. Every mile. To my dad. I love you so much, Dad. And I miss you.
I realized that if my dad could tell me 2 things they would be: how much he loves us all; and to learn from what happened to him. To finally get healthy. And stay healthy.
And to honor him - and to honor myself - and my family - and my team - and all of you - that's why I created Club 8.
That's why I've registered.
And once I'm registered - look out. Time to buckle down.
Let's all do it together for my father.
MAIN STREET AWAITS!
WTG!!!! Wishing I could be there in person to watch you cross the finish line, but timing isn't right for my hubby to take time off work. I will be watching from afar.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy that you are doing well at staying with your goals even with the changes in your life.
KEEP ON SWIMMING!!!!! :)
I cannot wait to meet you in person finally!!!! Wine & Dine here we come. It's going to be awesome!
ReplyDeleteAnd 2011 - I'll be there doing that half (and more I hope)! We'll all celebrate at the end for sure.
I am so proud of you for getting registered, for taking the bull by the horns, so to speak, and motivating yourself.
You are so right - your Dad is still telling you he loves you (he'll be there on those race courses with you, trust me on this) and he wants you to be the best you for you and your family. His memory will help you reach all your goals and you'll feel a little kick in the pants, pat on the shoulder or great big hug when you need it - just remember, that's your Dad doing those things for you :)!
Keep the motivation level on high and you're going to be just fine.
Way to step up and move forward, Jonathon. I think dedicating your training to your Dad is a very fine thing.
