Today will be a short post for me - I have a long driving day today (leaving around 6:30, and likely not home until 6:30, with around 7 hours of driving total today). And as you know, long driving days are a weakness of mine. They're where I tend to do my gas station snack stops.
And last night, I confessed to Amber that I was scared of today. Worried. I haven't really found a good groove yet (have had good days, but not a good week yet) - and was worried I'd muck it up. (By the way - the reason I didn't post a number yesterday was that there was no change from last monday)
My first thought was to stop early and get HEALTHY snacks (maybe a clif bar, some beef jerky, and that's it) in addition to my packed lunch, so I wouldn't be tempted. But Amber reminded me that gas stations mean pastries and candy. So instead she suggested stopping at the grocery store on the corner to get a few extra snacks. Maybe some fruit/veggies, maybe some dried fruits, a protein bar, etc.
It's a great idea. Regardless, if we set ourselves a PLAN to get through things we know are hard, we're more likely to succeed.
Exercise today: none.
Food today:
B - special K red berries, cottage cheese (fat free), toast with preserves.
L - turkey sandwich, apple, 100 cal snack.
D - fresh pasta w/ sauce and a veggie.
Snacks throughout the day as needed/desired - but only healthy choices.
See you guys tomorrow!
MAIN STREET AWAITS!
Well, you're aware of the gas stop issue, so that's half the battle... I like the idea of having a plan and filling it with better snacks, perhaps make a new routine out of it for your driving days. Maybe get to know the person at the grocery store to reinforce going there instead of the gas stop... There's got to be a winning variable in there somewhere :-)
ReplyDeleteC'mon Voice, we want to see some numbers here so we can cheer you on!
What?! your numbers haven't changed? Why? :(
ReplyDeleteDo not stop at that gas station give me the name and number of that gas station and I will call them and tell them not to serve you there!!!
GAS ONLY!!!! FOR YOUR CAR NOT YOUR BODY.
OK, I hope you packed good snacks, instead of snacks listen to a book, while driving. There is a NO EATING RULE in my car, and maybe you should make it yours too.
Remember you are not on bp meds anymore, and to keep it that way, you must stay out of the gas station snack section.
SO if it is raining, outside go inside and hit the almighty dreadmill and just do it.
You need to run in it like you stole something. I am going to tell Donald you been bad.
AMBER IS SMART!! I usually keep a bag of almonds and/or a container of frosted mini-wheat cereal in my car -- crunchy and sweet options!
ReplyDeleteYou're so on the right path - and Amber is an amazingly smart person and your support - listen to her!
ReplyDeleteEven if you number doesn't change - tell us. It will help us give you support and suggestions. The more you share the more we care!
Thanks for the sign - I'm going to do just that at the Princess Half. I'll be thinking of that sign the whole race. Now I'll just have to decide what I stole...That'll make it much more fun.
