And as a result, I drifted dangerously close to bad habits. No exercise for the last few days. Last night we went out to dinner (PF Changs) and I had too much food, and this morning my stomach is paying the price...if you've ever had PF Changs, you understand.
But this morning I finally said - that's it - enough. Back on the horse.
Even if I've gained a pound or two back - I'm not giving up - no matter how hard of a week - I haven't worked this hard to give up now!
So this morning started the "Rae's for the Pace!" I name this monthly challenge for my good friend, and sponsor Rae, because she has encouraged me to train for endurance. To get my time up. And because if I can keep true to my goals this month, it will go a long way to reminding her that Disney people don't give up, right Rae?
So what's the goal? It's a time goal this month. Forget distance. Forget pace. Just time.
Although part of the goal is a pace goal. I'm going to attempt to keep my pace at 3.4mph or higher the entire time (except the first and last 2 minutes of every workout).
And by the time November 30th comes around - I challenge myself to have exercised for a minimum of 15 hours, with at least 3 one hour sessions in there.
Who's with me?
MAIN STREET AWAITS!
No we do not give up!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNo caving!!! It sounds like you were close to it,if you gained any you should walk /jog an extra 10 minutes per pound you put back on!!
Ok Rae"s For The Pace.Come walk with me and I will get you up to a 16 minute walking mile. That is the half's pace requirements. I was doing that at the 13k.
Endurance,I need to work on that too.I learned that from the race.I also learned that I will have to get a water belt so I can get use to carrying water and a sports drink. You should too.I have a fanny pack I wore with my camera and h2o and I was use to it but with all the problems I had I had to take it off.
Learn from my mistakes,as I have and hopefully you wont' have any pitfalls.
You know I won;t let you live it down that you gained. That is the wrong way.{shame on you}I was At WDW and I did not gain an once I lost weight,I posted what I ate, good and Bad.
In 5 weeks I am going to finally meet you, even if it is for a day,and a half.
BTW I have on tivo, the holidays at WDW and at the Boardwalk where you and your wife are staying, they are going to have a holiday boardwalk set up that is completely eatable. It looks so cool.We were thinking of going up on the weekend of Thanksgiving and checking them out.
OK well... here we go
Rae's for the Pace!!!!
Team Voice!!
Jonathan, let's all agree that this month we will be dedicated to consistent routine exercise.
ReplyDeleteWhen I look at my September log compared to October... Well lets just say that you and Rae both know that I have put myself in the position of having to catch up on my mileage more than once. That did not happen during the Jon-A-Thon. So I plan to do much better going forward.
I did not get the extra 1/2 mile in tonight that I wanted. Once again my calves tightened up on me. Nothing painful just tight. I was able to walk through it this time though. My 8 mile turned into a wog. But I am not complaining. I stayed out and got the mileage.
I do have some good news to report.
On Thursday I donated blood and they took my blood pressure (112/70) and my resting pulse rate (52) I was very pleased to see those numbers. So overall health is looking good.
Let's all have a great month going into Mousefest!
Hi Jonathan.
ReplyDeleteYou are getting so close to 300. Great job.
This month's challenge sounds great.
I too will be working to increase my endurance as I prepare for January.
I would like to do a couple 10 - 11 milers this month.
Good luck to everyone in their workouts.
- Kate :-)
