Snack Attack

What the heck is going on here?

I've worked out three days so far this week (2x Cruella, 1x Me) - and am planning two more - and yet - having peeked at the scale, I'm only down like half a pound so far.

UGH!

And to top if all off - I'm snacking like there's no tomorrow. On the bright side, we're almost out of snacks - and I can just not buy as much. But I mean - I'm grazing while I cook - and had a beef jerky run yesterday.

I know my body needs more nutrition while I'm working out - but there has to be a better way...

*voice of reason booms from the sky*

THERE IS A BETTER WAY - try fruits - veggies - celery - carrots - more apples - grapes - yes you can have your Skinny Cow's and your chips, but in MODERATION - measure them - stop pouring a bowlfull - stop not holding yourself accountable - go back to the microwave popcorn - it's filling and low pointvalue. You can do this. I KNOW IT.

Wow...um...*looking up*...that was weird.

But that voice from the sky is right. I just need to reset how I snack - and what I snack on - and as the weight keeps coming off - the snack need will get less and less.

Thanks mysterious voice from the sky!

Don't mention it.

Anyhow - in other news - thank you all for supporting Kate - and lo and behold - I seem to have started a craze - because guess who else has jumped into the blogging/Disney running sphere? RAE!

Check this out: http://raeplace.blogspot.com - go say hi - and tell her how much you support her efforts too! (Plus - see some awesome pictures of her and her BF and kids at WDW on the DisneyWorldTrivia.com webpage)

Okay guys - I have three days until the final weigh in for this month - I'm going to push myself to workout Saturday and Sunday - and to eat less bad food - and keep an eye on everything - so that I can post some decent results for April!

And in May? Just look out world - it's a whole new ballgame!

MAIN STREET AWAITS!

  1. Hey there, hi there, ho there!

My cravings have abated since I started changing the amount of protein I eat. And I'm trying to be careful about the type of protein. Like eating just the whites of a hard-boiled egg.

My eating is down substantially. No more chips.

Oh, the other helpful thing is one bottle of Glaceau Vitaminwater per day (I like power-C). You can feel hungry when your dehydrated. This water is only 125 calories and gives both vitamins and electrolytes. I find that it satisifies much better than plain water during the workout and I actually only need about 10 oz. for one workout (or 1/2 a bottle). I also feel fuller. Hard to explain.

Might not work for you but I'm doing well with it.

    Keep up the great work.

    - Kate :)

  2. Hey there!!!Let me tell you exercising and running is causing the body to use more engery,in turn it speeds up the metabolism, which makes you hungry all the time!!!Try air popping your popcorn. No fat cause there is no oil,and when oil is heated to hot it changes the chemical stucture of the oil which causes trans fats.WE don't digest trans fat we store it.
To keep from eating, so much eat more protien.Eat more but smaller meals. The body is fighting back trying not to allow you to loose the weight. Also drink more water, that is also a sign of being dehydrated.
Thanks for the compliment :),don't forget that you will also loose inches and gain muscle weight. Thanks Now I have an idea what to post today!!!!
Try chewing gum, sometimes this helps curb the cravings.Try a protien smoothie you can make at home real easy.Fruit, protien powder,(chocolate)2tbsp of peanut butter,banana,oj,yogurt.Blend. Filling.I have one in the morning for the ride to work.Helps.
You are doing good, don't stop just keep swimming{jog-walk}.Good cooks always taste this and taste that while cooking, old habits die hard, try chewing gum, it keeps the mouth busy.

C-ya at the start line in 09!

  3. Hi :-) I used to struggle with the old snacking meal thing... My tips for snacking would be, every time you feel hungry drink lots of water.

Never eat whilst you are cooking, or walking about make sure you eat sitting down.

Eat loads of no point foods like salad, salsa dips, veggies and you will feel full.

Keep up the great work, it's hard to unlearn the way that you (and I) have eaten during the last few years.
